The FYI connector gives DeskMate access to:
  • Documents — list, search, fetch content
  • Clients (FYI calls them entities) — read, search
  • Jobs — read, create, update job state
FYI connects with an Access ID + Access Secret pair created in FYI’s automations area. There’s no OAuth redirect; you paste the values into DeskMate once.

Prerequisites

  • An FYI subscription (Australia or UK region)
  • An FYI administrator login to create the API application

Get your credentials from FYI

  1. Sign in to FYI
  2. Go to Automations → API
  3. Click Create New API Application and name it DeskMate
  4. Copy the Access ID and Access Secret — the secret is shown once, so copy it immediately

Connect

  1. In DeskMate, open Workspace → Connectors
  2. Click Connect on the FYI Docs tile
  3. Pick your Region — Australia (ap-southeast-2) or United Kingdom (eu-west-2)
  4. Pick your Environment — Production, unless FYI support told you to use Staging
  5. Paste the Access ID and Access Secret
  6. Application ID is only needed for FYI App Store integrations — leave it blank otherwise
  7. Click Connect — DeskMate validates the keys against FYI before saving

Troubleshooting

”FYI rejected the keys”

The Access ID or Secret was mistyped or the API application was deleted. Create a fresh API application in FYI and reconnect.

Health shows “down” right after connecting

Region/environment mismatch is the usual cause — your FYI account’s region must match the one you picked. Reconnect with the other region if unsure.

Lost the Access Secret

FYI shows the secret only once. Create a new API application and reconnect — the old one can be deleted in FYI.

Disconnecting

In Workspace → Connectors, click Disconnect. To revoke on the FYI side, delete the API application under Automations → API.
