How DeskMate works
DeskMate is built on three layers: Connectors are the secure links between DeskMate and your systems (Xero, M365, etc). They handle OAuth, tokens, and rate limits so you don’t have to think about them after setup. Primitives are the atomic actions DeskMate can perform — reading data, writing data, sending notifications, asking for approval, querying a knowledge base, and remembering context. Every connector exposes the same set of primitives, so a skill written once works across tools. Skills are the multi-step workflows your team builds and runs. A skill can be as simple as “summarise this week’s invoices” or as deep as “reconcile bank transactions and flag anything below 80% confidence for approval before posting.”What makes DeskMate different
- Chat-first, not dashboard-first. Your team already lives in Teams and Slack. DeskMate works where they work.
- Human-in-the-loop by default. Every action that touches a system of record can be gated by an approval — sent as an Adaptive Card directly into the chat.
- Multi-tenant and Australian-hosted. Each workspace’s data stays in its own boundary on Australian infrastructure.
- You own your skills. Compose primitives into workflows in the Skill Builder, version them, share them across the team.
